Bio : Laure Afchain

Née en 1984, j'ai suivi le cursus de l'école
des beaux-arts de Toulouse (France). Fascinée
par la communication dans ses différentes formes, j'ai principalement travaillé sur des projets
de typographie, illustration et récit dessinés,
en cherchant toujours le moyen le plus intelligent
et efficace d'exprimer mes idées.

Grâce à plusieurs ateliers organisés par François Chastanet (enseignant en graphisme & typographie) et animés par Alejandro lo Celso (dessinateur
de caractères), j'ai aussi pu découvrir le dessin typographique durant mes études à l'école
des beaux-arts.

Après mon DNSEP (Diplôme National d'Expression Plastique) option communication, je suis entrée à Type and Media à la Haye (Pays-Bas), où j'ai obtenu un master en dessin typographique en 2009.

Je vis et travaille actuellement à Paris en tant que designer graphique et dessinatrice de caractères.

I was born in 1984. I first studied in the fine arts school of Toulouse (France). Fascinated by communication and its different forms, I mainly worked in typography, illustration and story telling, always searching for the most direct and the most efficient ways to express ideas.

Thanks to several workshops organized
by my graphic design teacher François Chastanet and the argentinian type designer Alejandro
Lo Celso, I also discovered type design during
my fine arts studies.

After my fine arts diploma, I got in the programm Type and Media in the Hague, (Nederland)
where I graduated in 2009 with a MA in type design.

I'm currently living and working as a graphic
and type designer in Paris.
